Drive Vault

One pooled storage tank, filled from as many Google Drives as you connect.

This app never sees or stores your Google credentials.

Drive Vault doesn't have its own Google API access. Instead, you connect using a small, free Google Cloud project that belongs to you. Your Client ID and Client Secret are never written to any server or database here — they exist only inside an encrypted cookie in your browser for this session, and an encrypted backup saved inside your own Google Drive. Nobody operating this app can read them.

Why bring your own Google project?

Every person who uses this app connects with their own Google Cloud project instead of a shared one. That means your storage quota, your API usage, and your access are all completely separate from everyone else's — nothing here is shared or pooled between users except your own drives.

Takes about 10 minutes the first time. After this, signing in again is instant.

  1. Create a Google Cloud project. Go to console.cloud.google.com, click the project dropdown at the top, then New Project. Give it any name (e.g. "My Drive Vault") and create it.
  2. Enable the Google Drive API. With your new project selected, go to APIs & Services → Library, search for Google Drive API, and click Enable.
  3. Set up the consent screen. Go to APIs & Services → Google Auth Platform → Get started.
    • App name: anything you like. User support email: your email.
    • Audience: choose External.
    • Contact info: your email again, then agree to the terms and create.
    • On the Audience tab, scroll to Test users and add your own email (and anyone else you want to let sign in).
    • On the Data Access tab, click Add or remove scopes and add these two (paste into "manually add scopes" if they don't show in the list):

  4. Create your OAuth Client ID. Still under Google Auth Platform, go to the Clients tab → Create Client.
    • Application type: Web application
    • Name: anything, e.g. "Drive Vault Web Client"
    • Under Authorized redirect URIs, add exactly these two (click to copy each one — typos here are the most common setup mistake):
      http://mivaultoriginal.duckdns.org/oauth/callback
      http://mivaultoriginal.duckdns.org/oauth/callback/secondary
    • Click Create.
  5. Copy your Client ID and Client Secret. A box pops up showing both — copy them into the form below now, since the secret is only ever shown this once. (If you lose it, just create a new one from the Clients list.)

Your app will stay in Testing mode, meaning only the test users you listed above can sign in, and everyone will see a "Google hasn't verified this app" warning before continuing — that's normal and harmless; click through it.

Connect your Google account
